60th Birthday Party, David and Family
Thank you for joining us to celebrate my 60th surprise birthday party. I David A. Williams was born June, 1958, to the late Cornelius Akanbi Williams and Chief (Mrs.) Mojisola Modupe Williams, my journey has brought me from Rivers State and Lagos State Nigeria, to Davenport, Iowa, and ultimately Southfield, Michigan.
I consider my self a successful business owner, husband to Maureen Schwartzhoff, a former teacher in the Detroit Public School system, and father to David Adetokunbo Williams, a senior advisor in the City of Detroit Mayor’s Office. I am junior brother to Deji Williams and the late Fumilayo Williams, Ronke Mabadeji, and Kunle Williams.
Beyond being a loving husband and father, I have served as an entrepreneur and community leader in metropolitan Detroit for over 30 years. Former President of Odu’a Organization of Michigan and still an active member, I continue to serve and dedicate countless hours promoting the Yoruba language and culture, most recently organizing Odu’a youth and adult language classes in Detroit with Alagba Adeboye Adégbénró, Leaders and members of Odu’a Organization of Michigan. I am a passionate advocate for the Yoruba Language and Culture and a avid blogger at IleOduduwa the Source. I shares my love of both Yoruba culture and the beautiful game of soccer online at www.IleOduduwa.com
Thank you to all of our friends and family that made tonight’s festivities possible, with special appreciation to my wife and son who made all of this possible.
